Raudat Rashed is Qatar's main recycling facility for construction and demolition waste. Operated by QPMC, it recycles large volumes of waste, where concrete, aggregates and metals are separated and prepared for reuse. Under the new agreement, QPMC will extract, sort and prepare scrap iron and steel from the facility. These recovered materials will then be delivered to Qatar Steel for smelting and processing into finished steel products for national infrastructure and construction projects.
The agreement marks a significant step towards improving sustainable steel production in Qatar by increasing the amount of processed raw materials and increasing the efficiency of industrial resources.
