Iron ore imports to Turkey decreased by five percent in January-October 2025

In October of this year, Turkey's iron ore imports totaled 809,721 metric tons, down 17 percent from September and up 20.5 percent year-on-year, according to preliminary data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, revenue from these imports totaled $80.96 million, down 19.5% from the previous month and up 14.6% year-on-year.

In the first ten months of the year, iron ore imports to Turkey amounted to 8.37 million tons, which is five percent less, while the value of these imports decreased by 19.7 percent to $878.48 million, year-on-year.

During the specified period, Brazil was the largest source of iron ore imports to Turkey with 5.49 million tons, which is 16.9% more than in the previous year. Brazil is followed by Sweden with 660,718 metric tons and Uzbekistan with 593,535 metric tons, down 33.3 percent and 12.4 percent year-on-year, respectively.
