S. Department of Commerce, imports of cold-rolled steel to the United States in August this year totaled 65,467 tons, down 34.9 percent month-on-month and 44.8 percent year-on-year. In value terms, CRC imports totaled $62.96 million in August this year, compared with $97.22 million in July and $123.88 million in August last year.
The United States imported the most CRC from Canada in August with 21,069 tons, compared with 21,360 tons in July and 39,940 tons in August last year. Other major CRC import sources in August include South Korea with 7,783 tons, Vietnam with 5,588 tons, Turkey with 5,391 tons, and the Netherlands with 4,061 tons.
