In the first 11 months of this year, exports of flat rolled products increased by 8.1 percent to 1.64 million tons, while exports of semi-finished steel products totaled 1.24 million tons, which is 30.8 percent less than last year. the base. The share of semi-finished products in exports in January-November was 33.62 percent, which is significantly lower than the 46.25 percent recorded in the same period of 2024, and the share of flat rolled products in exports was 44.31 percent, which is significantly higher than the 39.04 percent recorded in the first 11 months of last year. In addition, the share of long-rolled products increased to 22.07 percent from 14.71 percent recorded in January-November 2024.
Meanwhile, in the first 11 months of this year, domestic steel consumption increased by 25.5 percent year-on-year to 3.76 million tons, of which 1.49 million tons or 39.63 percent were imported. However, in the period from January to November 2024, domestic steel consumption amounted to 2.99 million tons, of which 1.14 million tons or 37.91 percent were covered by imports.
In the first 11 months of this year, the total volume of steel imports to Ukraine amounted to 1.49 million tons, which is 31.2 percent more than last year. In particular, Ukraine imported 1.02 million tons of flat rolled products, which is 13.1 percent more than last year, and imports of long products increased by 46.4 percent compared to the same period last year and amounted to 324.5 thousand tons. Exports of semi-finished steel products from the country in January-November amounted to 150.2 thousand tons compared with 18.2 thousand tons recorded in the same period last year.
