Japan's hot-rolled sheet shipments in October this year fell 2.2 percent from the previous month and 8.1 percent from the 698,499 tons recorded in the same month in 2024, amounting to 641,634 metric tons, according to the Japan Iron and Steel Federation (JISF). In the reporting month, 72.8 percent of deliveries were made to the domestic market, and the remaining 27.2 percent to export markets. In the month, Japan's hot-rolled steel and sheet production was 653,276 tons, up 3.2 percent month-on-month and down 3.4 percent year-on-year.
Meanwhile, Japan's hot-rolled steel shipments totaled 1.26 million tons in October, up 4.5 percent year-on-year. from the previous month and by 6.2 percent year on year. 23.8 percent of supplies were made to the domestic market, and the remaining 76.2 percent to export markets. In the reporting month, hot-rolled strip production in Japan was 1.28 million tons, up 8.7% month-on-month and up 10.4% year-on-year.
