Shipments of CR steel strips in Japan in October 2025 decreased by 2.2 percent compared to September

In October of this year, shipments of cold-rolled sheets and strips in Japan decreased by 2.2 percent compared to the previous month and decreased by 6.5 percent year-on-year, amounting to 374,483 metric tons. According to the Japan Federation of Ferrous Metallurgy (JISF), 54.8 percent of shipments were made to the domestic market, while the remaining 45.2 percent went to export markets.

Meanwhile, stocks of CR sheets and strips in Japan increased by one percent in this month compared to the previous month, totaling 665,732 metric tons and decreased by 1.4 percent year-on-year. 75.9 percent of the reserves belonged to steel producers, while 24.1 percent belonged to steel traders.

In October, production of CR sheets and strips in Japan totaled 381,065 tons, up 11.6 percent month-on-month and down 2.6 percent year-on-year.
