According to German engineering company Kocks, Turkish steel mill in Bursa Çemtaş Çelik Makina Sanayi ve Ticaret A.
Ş (Çemtas) has placed an order for a reduction and calibration unit as part of a modernization program aimed at rolling special bars (SBQ). The technology provider said commissioning is scheduled for 2026.
With the new finishing unit in place, Çemtaş will be able to produce straight bars with finished diameters ranging from 15.0 mm to 100.0 mm, while achieving tight dimensional tolerances and high surface quality suitable for complex downstream applications.
According to Cox, the scope of supply extends beyond mechanical equipment to include the company's advanced remote control system for automatic adjustment of the rack and auxiliary equipment.
