S. Department of Commerce, rebar imports to the United States totaled 36,016 tons in August this year, down 40.8 percent month-on-month and 43.1 percent year-on-year. In value terms, rebar imports in August this year amounted to $19.7 million, compared with $33.0 million in July and $41.4 million in August last year.
The United States imported the most fittings from Bulgaria in August - 13,481 tons compared to 15,544 tons in August last year. Other leading sources of imported fittings in August include South Korea (8,136 tons), Vietnam (7,736 tons) and Egypt (4,107 tons)
