According to the National Bureau of Statistics of China (NBS), in the period from January to November of this year, China's production of hot rolled steel (HRC) amounted to 205.313 million tons, an increase of 5.0 percent year-on-year.
During the same period, China's cold-rolled roll (CRC) production amounted to 44.348 million tons, which is 7.7 percent more than last year.
In November alone, China's HRC and CRC production totaled 17.817 million tons and 4.303 million tons, up 1.4 percent and 9.8 percent year-on-year, but down 1.8 percent and 2.1 percent month-on-month, respectively.
In November, prices for HRC in the Chinese domestic market initially declined, and then recovered. The highest price level for HRC in November was observed at 3,430 yuan/ton ($486/ton) on November 1-2, and the lowest level was observed on November 7-10 at 3,355 yuan/ton ($475/ton).
