According to the Chinese customs authorities, in January-November of this year, exports of steel bars to China amounted to 17.26 million tons, which is 44 percent more than last year, while exports of wire rod amounted to 2.68 million tons, which is 12.7 percent more than last year. At the same time, China's corner/channel exports totaled 7.16 million tons over the period, an increase of 34.4% year-on-year.
In November alone, China's exports of steel bars, wire rods, and corners/channels totaled 1.71 million tons, 250,000 tons, and 700,000 tons, up 29.1%, down 17.1%, and up 39.5% year-on-year, up 5.6%, 19.0%, and 1.4% month-on-month, respectively.
