According to the Chinese customs authorities, in January-November of this year, exports of steel sheet/rolled products in China amounted to 66.45 million tons, which is 3.2% lower compared to the same period last year.
In November alone, China exported 6.0 million tons of steel sheet/rolled steel, remaining stable year-on-year, increasing 0.5% month-on-month.
In November, HRC export prices in China initially declined, but later rose, with the highest price level during the month averaging $473/t FOB from large factories observed between October 18 and 30, and the lowest level of $470/t FOB observed on November 11-17, according to the data SteelOrbis.
The Chinese Ministry of Commerce and the General Administration of Customs have jointly issued a notification on the introduction of an export license system for steel products, which is likely to lead to higher HRC export prices in the future.
