In November of this year, Japan's crude steel production decreased by 1.2 percent from the previous month and decreased by 1.6 percent from November 2024, totaling 6.77 million tons, according to data released by the Japan Federation of Ferrous Metallurgy (JISF).
Meanwhile, Japan's pig iron production totaled 4.84 million metric tons in the month, down 0.3 percent from the previous month and 3.5 percent year-on-year.
In the first eleven months of this year, the country's steel production totaled 74.10 million metric tons, down 3.9 percent, while pig iron production totaled 53.64 million metric tons, down four percent from the same period last year.
