Import of steel bars to Georgia from Turkey to increase in January-November 2025
In January-November of this year, Georgia's total foreign trade turnover with Turkey, which is the country's largest trading partner, amounted to $2.79 billion, including imports of $2.49 billion, down 0.7%, and exports of $306.43 million, down 30.1% year-on-year, according to preliminary data National Statistical Office of Georgia (Gestat). In the first 11 months, Georgia's imports of bars made of iron or non-alloy steel from Turkey amounted to 129,050 tons, compared with 2,539 tons for the corresponding period last year. Meanwhile, the cost of these imports amounted to $75.55 million, an increase from $1.77 million in January-November 2024.
