Baker Hughes reported that the number of rotary drilling rigs in the United States fell by 6 to 542 for the week ended December 19, 2025.
The number of gas production rigs remained unchanged at 127, and the number of oil drilling rigs decreased by 6 to 415. The total number of drilling rigs in the United States decreased by 47 rigs for the year comparison.
Meanwhile, the number of drilling rigs in Canada fell by 7 to 185 in the week ending December 19. The number of drilling rigs in Canada increased by 19 compared to the same reporting period the previous year.
