On December 22, China's Ma'anshan Iron and Steel, a subsidiary of Baowu Group, successfully completed the hot load test of its No. 6 cold-rolled hot-dip galvanized production line, signaling the start of production operations, according to China Baowu Group.
Construction work on the project began on May 31, 2024. The project's design production capacity is 450,000 tons, and the estimated annual production cost is 2.7 billion yuan ($0.38 billion).
The products from the production line will mainly consist of pure galvanized steel, high-strength and ultra-high-strength steel for use in the automotive industry, which will greatly increase the capacity of Masteel's automotive sheet and expand the market potential of the strip with wide coverage.
