Global DRI production increased by 4.5 percent in November 2025

According to data released by the World Steel Association (worldsteel), global direct reduction iron (DRI) production in 12 countries, accounting for approximately 85 percent of total global DRI production in 2024, totaled 11.13 million metric tons in November this year, down 3.1 percent month-on-month and up 4.5 percent year-on-year.

Meanwhile, global DRI production increased 4.5 percent year-on-year. to 118.02 million metric tons in the first eleven months of this year, an increase of 4.6 percent compared to the corresponding period in 2024.

Worldsteel data shows that India was the largest producer of direct recoveries among the countries surveyed in November this year, with direct recoveries producing 4.85 million metric tons in that month. India was followed in November by Iran, Russia and Saudi Arabia with production of 3.82 million tons, 620,000 tons and 519,000 tons, respectively.
