U.S. exports of cold-rolled ingots totaled 7,720 tons in August this year, up 8.5 percent from July and down 39.9 percent from August last year, according to U.S. Commerce Department export data. In value terms, cold-processed ingot exports totaled $26.1 million in August, compared to $22.8 million in the previous month and $29.8 million in the same month last year.
The United States shipped the most cold-processed ingot to Canada in August, at 3,285 tons, compared to 2,679 tons in July and 6,878 tons in August last year. Another leader in the direction was Mexico with 2872 tons. There were no other significant supply routes (1,000 tons or more) for cold-rolled ingots in the United States in August
