Imports of rolled steel products to the United States increased by 2.3 percent in August 2025 compared with July

According to preliminary data from the U.

S. Department of Commerce census, in August 2025, imports of cutting plates to the United States amounted to 51,270 tons, which is 2.3 percent more than in July and 66.3 percent more than in August 2024. In value terms, imports of rolled steel amounted to $42.9 million in August 2025, compared with $43.7 million in July and $40.4 million in August 2024.

The United States imported the longest rolled steel from Brazil in August with 20,202 tons, up from 4,963 tons in July. Other major sources of imported leaf in August include South Korea with 15,907 metric tons, Canada with 8,218 metric tons, Malaysia with 2,763 metric tons, Sweden with 2,462 metric tons, and Slovenia with 1,203 metric tons.
