Commenting on Turkey's 3.95% anti-dumping duty on imports of cold-rolled stainless steel from China, Haluk Kayabasi, CEO of Kibar Holding, said the decision will help prevent unfair competition in imports, pave the way for a level playing field in the steel sector and reduce Turkey's external dependence.

As reported by SteelOrbis on Saturday , Turkey has decided to impose an anti-dumping duty of 3.95 percent on stainless steel imports from China. According to Kayabashi, the regulation represents the first stage of measures aimed at limiting losses incurred by the sector, and further steps are expected to follow.
Kayabashi noted that stainless steel is an essential raw material for many high-value-added industries, from automotive and healthcare to food, energy and defense industries. He emphasized that dumped products originating from Asia and the Far East not only disrupt price balances in the domestic market, but also significantly weaken the investment potential of local producers.
Stating that protective trade policies implemented in many countries around the world provide critical protection for domestic industries, Kayabashi said that, in his opinion, the anti-dumping measures introduced ministry will contribute to Turkey achieving sustainable growth in stainless steel production.
