Baker Hughes reported that for the week ended December 23, 2025, the number of rotary drilling rigs in the United States increased by 3 to 545.
The number of gas drilling rigs remained unchanged at 127, and the number of oil drilling rigs increased by 3 to 418. The total number of drilling rigs in the United States decreased by 44 rigs for the year comparison.
Meanwhile, the number of drilling rigs in Canada fell by 67 to 118 in the week ended December 23. The number of drilling rigs in Canada increased by 23 compared to the same reporting period in the previous year.
