Italian oilfield services company Saipem has announced that it has received a new offshore contract from Turkish Petroleum OTC to extend the third phase of the Sakarya gas field development project in the Black Sea. The total value of the contract is approximately US$425 million.
Saipem said the contract covers the engineering, procurement, construction and installation of three additional subsea pipelines with a total length of approximately 153 km, as well as associated subsea facilities.
The company explained that the new pipelines will connect newly discovered natural gas reserves in the Goktepe gas field with the Sakarya Phase 3 facilities. The company indicated that the contract will have a duration of approximately two and a half years and will be carried out as a continuation of the contract signed in September 2025 for the third phase of the development of the Sakarya gas field.
In a separate announcement, Saipem also confirmed that it has received two offshore contracts in Saudi Arabia under an existing long-term agreement with Saudi Arabia-based Aramco for a total value of approximately US$600 million.
First contract The 32-month contract includes the design, procurement, construction and installation of approximately 34 km of 20-inch and 30-inch diameter offshore pipelines, as well as related work at the top of the Berri and Abu Safah oil fields.
The second 12-month contract covers subsea work at the Marjan field, as well as a 300-meter onshore pipeline. and related mortise work.
