US rig count increases, Canada rig count decreases - Week 54 of 2025

Baker Hughes reported that for the week ended December 30, 2025, the number of U.S. rotary drilling rigs increased by 1 to 546.

The number of gas production rigs decreased by 2 to 125, and the number of oil production rigs increased by 3 to 421. The total number of U.S. drilling rigs decreased by 43 rigs for the year comparison.

At the same time, The number of drilling rigs in Canada fell by 17 to 101 for the week ended December 30. The number of drilling rigs in Canada increased by 7 compared to the same reporting period in the previous year.
