According to data received from the Indian Ports Association (IPA) on Tuesday, January 6, coking coal imports from India through all major ports in the country are tentatively estimated at 48.053 million tonnes during the fiscal year April to December 2025, up 11.3% year-on-year.
SteelOrbis estimates coking coal shipments to the country in December 2025 was 6.76 million tonnes.
IPA data showed that total iron ore throughput, including pellets, handled by all major Indian ports stood at 37.241 million tonnes during the April-December period of FY 2025-26, up 2.21 per cent over the corresponding period of the previous financial year.
