At the end of December (21-31 December) last year, the average price in China for 20mm HRB 400E rebar rose by 14.8 yuan/t (2.1 US dollars/t) or 0.5 percent to 3,184.6 yuan/t (454 US dollars/t) compared with the price in mid-December (11-20 December), the National Bureau of Statistics announced China.
During the period, the average prices of wire rod and hot-rolled coil (HRC) increased by 0.7 percent and 0.2 percent, the average prices of average steel sheet and angles decreased by 0.3 percent and 0.1 percent, respectively, while the average price of seamless steel pipe remained stable compared to mid-December.
