According to data released by the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) on Wednesday, January 7, retail sales of Indian cars in all categories indicated by new registrations were estimated at 2.029 million units in December 2025, an increase of 14.63 percent year-on-year.
In the passenger car segment, total retail sales totaled 380,000 units in December 2025, an increase of 26.64 percent year-on-year, which is the highest growth rate seen in all automotive categories.
Sales of two-wheeled vehicles totaled 1.317 million units, an increase of 9.5%, while sales of commercial vehicles totaled 83,666 units, an increase of 24.60% year-on-year.
According to FADA, for the entire calendar year 2025, the total volume of retail sales of cars in all categories amounted to 28.16 million, which is 7.71 percent more than in 2024.
