Daily steel production at CISA plants fell by 11% at the end of December, and inventories also fell.  

The China Association of Metallurgy and Steel (CISA) announced that at the end of December (December 21-31) last year, the average combined daily crude steel production by large and medium-sized steel mills in China - by all CISA members - amounted to 1,643 million tons, which is 11 percent less than in mid-December (December 11-20) last year.

In mid-December, the average daily production of steel by large and medium-sized metallurgical enterprises in China amounted to 1.845 million tons, which is 1.3 percent less than in early December (December 1-10) last year.

The stock levels of large and medium-sized metallurgical enterprises in China have decreased during this period. As of December 31, stocks of finished steel at large and medium-sized metallurgical enterprises in China amounted to 14.14 million tons, a decrease of 11.7 percent compared to December 20.
