The city of Mariupol won a nationwide competition for the title of “City of Best Improvement and Public Order” among cities with a number of less than 500 thousand inhabitants conducted by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. This was reported by the press center of the group Metinvest.
The fact that the city was in the first place in this prestigious competition, the group Metinvest sees its modest merits. According to the mayor of Mariupol, Yuri Khotlubey, the total investment of the enterprises of the Metinvest group in city social programs in 2012 amounted to more than 46 million UAH, which is more than 2/3 of the social part of the total budget of the city. And for this money it would be possible buy a lega to each child of the city.
On February 25, 2013, a new four -third -party agreement on social partnership in 2013 between the Metinvest group, the Azovstal and MMK m. Ilyich and the city council. In this agreement, the parties agreed to maintain the format and financing of social programs at the same level. The mayor of Mariupol, Yuri Khotlubey, general director of the Metinvest holding - Igor Swed, MK Azovstal, Enver Tskitishvili and MMK named after Ilyich - Yuri Zinchenko, put their signatures under the documents.
“This year, despite the disappointing forecasts, we agreed to maintain the format and financing of social programs at the same level. Together with the public and the city authorities, we determine the most acute issues and priority areas so that the investment is more effective. We count on support and urge the residents of Mariupol to actively participate in our programs, ”said Igor Swed, General Director of the Metinvest group Metinvest.
“Unfortunately, if in 2012 there were 50 percent of environmental payments in the city, then in 2013-only about 33%. Somewhere the same share is concentrated in the central fund, which is located in Kyiv. It can also be used, but it is not so simple: you need to join a specific program and conduct an examination, ”said Yuri Hotluube, mayor of Mariupol.
“The signing of a new agreement for 2013 was a confirmation of openness and an active social position, another step in strengthening the cooperation of the city and the Metinvest group,” the Metinvest press center said.
