Gerhard Kromme resigned from the post of chairman of Thyssenkrupp AG

Dr. Gerhard Kromme will leave his post by the chairman of the supervisory board of the German steel concern Thyssenkrupp AG until March 31, 2013. This was reported by the press service of Thyssenkrupp.

At the same time as a recovery of resignation, Dr. Kromma addressed the leadership of the Alfred Kruppa Brolen Bolen Halbach Foundation with a request to withdraw his candidacy from the post of deputy chairman of the board and member of this fund.

Gerhard Kromme, who recently turned seventy years old, spent twenty -seven of them working in different posts in Thyssenkrupp.

“With the help of this step, after twelve years of work as the chairman of the Supervisory Board Tissencroopp and realizing all responsibility to the company, its employees and shareholders, I hope to update the supervisory board. Over the past two hundred years, the company has always successfully overcome many critical situations, and I am convinced that this will happen this time. I will remain forever attached to the company and its employees, ”said Gerhard Kromme.

In turn, the general director of Thyssenkrupp AG Heinrich Haisinger noted that “the Executive Council, as well as all the company's employees, respect Dr. Kromme and are grateful for his many years of work in Tissencroopp. Herhard Kromme essentially formed a modern landscape in the German steel industry. The mergers of Krupp and Hoesch in 1992, and then the Thyssen absorption in 1999, became the result of his personal initiatives and made a significant contribution to the restructuring of the metallurgical industry of Germany. ”

The stock market favorably reacted to a message about the resignation of Gerhard Kromme. The price of THYSSENKRUPP AG shares increased by 5.5% and amounted to 18.14 euros apiece. “This is a very logical step by Mr. Kromme as a representative of the company,” says Ingo Spit, a portfolio manager of the German Investment Union, “this is just a great solution,” he added.
