Ukraine has increased the import of iron ore raw materials one and a half times over the past two months

In the first two months of the current year, Ukrainian metallurgical plants purchased about 500 thousand tons of iron ore raw materials abroad, which is 53% more than in January - February 2012. This was reported by the Association of Metallurgprom.

In addition, Ukrainian mining companies increase exports of domestic iron ore. In January-February 2013, the export of iron ore raw materials from Ukraine increased by 21% relative to the same period last year and amounted to 6 million 70 thousand tons.

For February, metallurgical and mining companies in Ukraine imported 240 thousand tons of iron ore raw materials, and exported 2 million 965 thousand tons.

The needs of metallurgical plants in iron ore raw materials for 2 months of 2013 were not fully satisfied, in particular, there was a shortage of pellets and agglomerate, due to increased compared to the balance schedule of the production of its own agglomerate, simultaneously reducing the volume of cast iron smelting; In other positions, Ukrainian metallurgy was provided by 100%

The adjusted balance schedule for providing Ukrainian station forces with iron ore raw materials in February 2013 was completed: by pellets - by 80%, by agglomerate - by 99%, by agglorud - by 106%and by concentrate - by 105%

In February, the supply of scrap metal enterprises in February increased by 29.7%, to 332 thousand tons, which amounted to 96% of the estimated balance need of metallurgists.

The reserves of scrap metal at metallurgical plants in February increased by 35 thousand tons and as of March 1, 2013 amounted to about 135 thousand tons
