In January 2013, Japanese metallurgical enterprises increased the production of galvanized sheet by 9.3% compared to the previous month - up to 986 thousand 592 tons, reports the Japanese Metallurgical Federation (JISF).
Sales of Japanese galvanizing in January reached 946 thousand 886 tons, which is 5.2% compared to December 2012 and 3.1% more than in January last year. 70% of the galvanized steel produced in Japan took the country's domestic market and only 30% were shipped to foreign consumers.
Meanwhile, in January, the warehouses of galvanizing in Japan increased by 4% compared to the previous month, while decreasing by 6.75% in annual terms and amounted to about one million tons.
The weighted average prices of a galvanized sheet in Japan remained at the level of 92 thousand yen or about $ 950 per ton, which is still cheaper than in January last year for $ 50.
