The largest Japanese metallurgical company Nippon Steel and Sumitomo Metal Corp (NSSMC) announced today about increasing prices for a steel double -barrel beam by ¥ 5000 (52 dollars/tons) in case of internal supplies in March 2013 and ¥ 10000 (105 dollars/TN) for deliveries in April - September.
The company's decision is based on significantly increased demand from the domestic market of Japan. Sumikin Steel & Sharpes, a subsidiary of the NSSMC, also announced an increase in prices for March supplies of an I -beam.
NSSMC claims that if the demand continues to grow, then the sport prices for steel beams will be revised again.
Meanwhile, Russian manufacturers, such as Nevsky Plant Pipe Delast prefer to use domestic metal products in their production.
