The American Institute of Steel and Chuguna (AISI) reported that the production of raw steel in the country last week decreased by 2.4%, continuing the fall that had begun by 1.6%that had begun a week before last.

In total, the production of raw steel in the United States at the week, which ended on March 16, amounted to 1 million 785 thousand tons, against 1 million 820 thousand tons a week before last and 1 million 982 thousand tons in the same week last year (-9.9%).

The coefficient of use of steel capacities in the United States last week amounted to 74.5%, compared with 76.3% a week and 79.6% in the same week of 2012.
