The production of steel in 63 countries of the World Steel Association Association (WorldSteel) in February 2013 amounted to 123 million tons, which is 1.2% more than in February 2012.
The largest growth was demonstrated by China’s metallurgy, which processed more than 61 million 800 thousand tons, which is 9.8% higher than in February last year. In second place in Japan with 8 million 300 thousand tons, which is 3.4% less than February 2012 and the third place rose, with the production of 6 million 700 thousand tons.
This month, Ukraine nearly left the ten world leaders in the production of steel, giving way to the metallurgists of distant Brazil. If Italy were able to keep the production of steel at the level of January of this year, then Ukraine in this case would take only 11th place. The result for February turned out to be 2 million 480 thousand tons against 2 million 123 thousand tons in favor of Ukraine.
The metallurgists of the Russian Federation managed to squeeze colleagues from South Korea and enter the five leaders in production according to Wordsteel.
