Thyssenkrupp is dissatisfied with the income proposals for its American assets and requires an increase in bets

ThyssenKrupp недоволен поступившими предложениями по своим американским активам и требует повышения ставок
The German steel company Thyssenkrupp is surprised by the low level of the price offer for its metallurgical assets in the USA and Brazil and intends to hold additional negotiations with bidders in order to increase bets. This was reported on Saturday by Agencia Estado.

Two main applicants for the Thyssenkrupp Brazilsky Complementary plant - the local metallurgical company CIA Siderurgica Naciona (CSN) and Luxembourg Ternium SA counted on the desire of the German corporation as soon as possible to sell the unprofitable enterprise and proposed a deliberately low prices, writes Agencia Estado.

So CSN offers $ 3.8 billion for a factory in Alabama (USA) and Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), although Thyssenkrupp once invested more than $ 15.5 billion in their construction.

The plant in Rio, 73% of the shares of which belongs today, THYSSENKRUPP, was built only three years ago and the cost of its construction is estimated at the level of more than $ 10 billion. It turns out that both CSN and Ternium trading participants want to get new production capacities several times cheaper than their cost.

The Government of Rio de Janeiro is in support of Ternium, as it fears the departure of tax revenues to San Paulo, where the headquarters of the CSN is located. At the same time, the BNDES State Bank is still considering the possibility of financing CSN by opening a special credit line for buying the Thyssenkrupp plant, but does not consider the proposed guarantees from CSN sufficient.

The spokesman Thyssenkrupp refused to comment, saying that the sale of American assets is on plan. The company intends to complete the sale of its share in the Brazilian metallurgical plant until September 30, 2013, he added.

Today it became known that Dr. ulrich Lener, who will take the post of chairman of the supervisory board of Thyssenkrupp AG from the first of April 2013, decided to refuse to participate in the other three supervisory councils and focus on his duties in Thyssenkrup. March 31, 2013 Lener will leave the post of a member of the Henkel Management AG supervisory board. In addition, he will resign from his place in the advisory council of Oetker KG and leave the post in with Porsche Automobil Holding SE.
