After repeated increase in prices by Brazilian metallurgical companies, sales of metal rolling has sharply reduced in the country. This was reported by the Association of Distributors of Brazil Inda.
So in February 2013, the volume of sales of the ferrous metal rolling by members of the above association amounted to 317 thousand 900 tons, which is 7.5% less than in February 2012 and 13.8% less than in January 2013. In the first two months from the beginning of this year, Brazilian consumers reduced the purchases of steel products by 1.9% in annual calculus, while warehouses of metal traders increased by 3.5% to 970 thousand tons.
In addition, Inda distributors purchased 340 thousand 300 tons of metal engine from local manufacturers of metal products in February 2013, which is 3.7% less than a year ago and 8.7% than last month.
