The China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) announced that wholesale sales of new energy vehicles (NEVs) in China were estimated at 1.22 million units in April this year, up 7.0 percent year-on-year, with growth of 7.0 percent month-on-month, marking the transition of the NEV market from a low season at the beginning of the year to a recovery phase.
Due to the war in the Middle East, international oil prices were at a high level, which encouraged consumers to buy NEVs instead of fuel cars.
In addition, the Beijing Auto Show coupled with a wave of new model launches also boosted NEV sales.
