According to data published in the Pakistani Federal Statistics Bureau, the country imported 175 thousand tons in February 2013, which is 18.5% more than in February 2012 and 7.8% higher than in January 2013. The increase in imports in monetary dimension grew by more than 40% in an annual comparison and amounted to $ 145 million.
According to the report, the import of steel scrap to Pakistan for a month alone grew by 9.8% and reached an impressive figure of 113 thousand 110 tons in the amount of 4 million 350 thousand dollars, which is 20% more than in January 2013.
