Former state official Mr. Nemania Kolesar was questioned and detained as part of an investigation of the case of violations of Sartid, now known as Zhelezarovaro Smeridovo.
Mr. Kolesar at one time held the post of head of the working group responsible for the privatization of Satride, today is suspected of abuse of official position, initiating a fictitious bankruptcy procedure and interfering in court proceedings when transferring the case from the local court to the economic court of Belgrade.
From now on, the previously taken testimony of other former officials of the Serbian Republic will be called into question. In particular, a second check will be carried out according to the testimony of the former Minister of Economics Alexander Vlakhovich and former Minister of Finance Bozhdar Jelich, as well as in doubt the veracity of the testimony of the then Prime Minister Mirolyub Labus.
According to the Serbian Corruption Council, Sartid was sold to the American US Steel for $ 23 million, while its real price was at least 1 billion 700 million euros.
