Gas monopolists push the authorities of Ukraine to introduce restrictions on coal imports. This was stated by the expert of the energy market of Gleb Prostakov on the "First Business Channel" is reported by the Ministry of Industry.
Large gas suppliers need an increase in the consumption of blue fuel, while the transition to the technology of dust -angle fuel blowing (PUVT) sharply reduces the consumption of natural gas in metallurgy.
However, the normal operation of PUVT installations requires high -quality imported and, in particular, Russian coal. "According to various estimates, the use of PUVT technology in dominated production provides saving on the industry of about two and a half billion cubic meters of gas. Thus, the lobbyists of future gas suppliers of industry in power are currently interested in the installation of dusting equipment in Ukraine is not carried out," Gleb Prostakov emphasized.
According to analysts, in the very near future, instead of NAC Naftogaz of Ukraine, natural gas to Ukraine will supply new companies that are still holding in the shade that do not want to lose the volume of sales. Therefore, they a priori are not interested in modernizing the energy -intensive metallurgical industry. The price of the issue is at the level of one billion dollars, therefore the passions will boil not comic.
It is no secret that the two largest natural gas suppliers are operating on the Ukrainian market today: Ostchem Dmitry Firtash and Gazprom Saby Ukraine, a subsidiary of the Russian Gazprom. In total, according to the results of 2012, these companies delivered to industrial enterprises eleven billion cubic meters of gas.
In 2012, more than 13 million tons of metallurgical coke were imported into Ukraine, the import of which is intended to limit 10.2 million tons.
