The metallurgical enterprises of Ukraine in the first quarter of 2013 increased the production of steel by 2% compared with January-March 2012. The total number of steel sold in the first three months of this year amounted to 8 million 322 thousand tons, according to OP Metallurgprom.

In January - March 2013, the production of the total metal rolling, including ingots and slabs, compared with the same period last year, increased by 1% and amounted to 7 million 355 thousand tons, the melting of cast iron increased by 2% to 7 million 272 thousand tons.

Meanwhile, the production of commodity metal rolling decreased by 2% and amounted to 6 million 547 thousand tons, including the production of steel pipes reduced by a third - to 398 thousand tons.

In addition, in the first quarter of 2013, the enterprises of the Mining Complex of Ukraine increased the production of iron ore by 2% - to 20 million 454 thousand tons, the production of iron ore concentrate increased by the same 2%, to 16 million 890 thousand tons. At the same time, the release of prepared iron ore raw materials was actually at three months of last year - 16 million 395 thousand tons, including the release of the agglomerate by 2% - to 10 million 942 thousand tons, but the production of pellets dropped by 4%, to 5 million 453 thousand tons.

In 2013, the metallurgical companies of Ukraine, according to Metallurgprom, intend to increase the production of metal rolling compared to last year by 6.4% - up to 31 million tons, steel - by 5.6%, up to 34 million 400 thousand tons, cast iron - by 4.6%, up to 29 million 900 thousand tons.

In turn, the analysts of the state enterprise “Ukrpromvnesespertiza” adhere to more modest forecasts, he believe that in 2013 the country's missile systems will increase steel smelting by 3% - to 33 million 700 thousand tons.
