The DurgaPur metallurgical plant, Sail unit located in the east of India, recorded record high performance during 2012 and 2013. Hot metal yield increased by 7%. The production of steel and commodity steel grew by 6% and 5%, respectively. The production of special steels and the supply of wheels and axes increased by 16% and 9%, respectively.
Continuous casting, the release of agglomerate also grew. Moreover, production indicators exceeded annual goals for all areas of production. The plant also reached the best technical and economic indicators in such important parameters as the productivity of the domain furnace, the performance of the agglophabum, and the overall production of metallurgical products. At the same time, the best results were obtained in indicators such as the specific water consumption and labor productivity.
The Director of DSP Mr. K. Singh said in the published report that the reached record indicators in the 2012 financial year establish new trends in the development of metallurgical production for the coming years. The Durgapur metallurgical plant plans to direct maximum efforts in order to maintain the health and cleanliness of the environment. DSP conducted mass landscaping of 1266 acres of the Earth to restore a favorable environmental situation.
