China published data regarding the solution of excess production capacities of steel industry, which are present in the sector. The formation of a list of 45 Chinese metallurgical enterprises that meet the national industrial standards for the production of iron and steel was the last step in this direction.
The Ministry of Industry and Information Technologies reports in the statement that the listed enterprises meet standards for the quality of products, environmental protection, energy consumption, manufacture and equipment, production scale, as well as the safety of work and other social responsibility.
The composition of 45 qualified metallurgicals includes 30 state -owned enterprises such as Baosteel and Angang Steel, as well as 15 private companies. The total production of these companies last year reached 300 million tons, or 41.4% of the total volume of steel production in the country, according to the ministry’s statement.
To compile the list, 104 companies located in 19 provincial areas were investigated. Mr. Myo Chimin, Deputy Director of the Department of the Ministry of Raw Materials and Materials, said that the ministry will cooperate with other government departments to support qualified enterprises and contribute to the merger and restructuring of the steel industry.
