The Metallurgical Plant of the Evraz group in the Czech Republic was stopped due to the lack of orders

Evraz Vitkovice Steel - the Czech capac board of the Russian group Evraz this Friday was stopped for an indefinite period due to the lack of demand for metal rolling. This is stated in the message of the company.

The stop of metallurgical production in the Czech Republic shows that the country is still in the power of the crisis and can cause a chain of negative consequences for resources suppliers to Europe, such as, for example, Arselormital.

"The reason for the stop of production was a low demand for metal products in the European markets and a sufficient amount to fulfill the orders of steel semi -finished products," the Evraz Vitkovice Steel statement said.

According to preliminary data, metallurgical production in the Czech Republic will be idle all of April. At the same time, the resumption of production will depend only on improving the situation in the market. The remaining production lines of the plant will continue to work on previously cast blanks.

Recall that the production of steel at Evraz Vitkovice Steel was stopped in October 2012 and again launched in mid -January of this year. However, as you can see, it was Falstart.

Evraz Vitkovice Steel (EVS) is designed to produce about 950 thousand tons per year (operating on the Arcelormittal cast iron), rolling capacities for 755 thousand tons of thick sheet and about 170 thousand tons of heavy grade rental.

The company is the largest manufacturer of thick -power steel in the Czech Republic and one of the largest metallurgical plants in Europe.

The main shareholders of the Evraz group are considered Russian entrepreneurs Roman Abramovich, Alexander Abramov, Alexander Frolov.
