Ukrainian metallurgists for the first quarter of 2013 melted 8 million 678 thousand tons of steel

In the first quarter of 2013, Ukrainian metallurgical enterprises melted 8 million 678 thousand tons of steel, including 4 million 354 thousand tons of cast semi -finished products. This was reported by the State Statistics Service.

The report indicates that the production of metal rolling decreased by 5.5 percent compared to the same period last year and amounted to 4 million 4986 thousand tons. Including sheet steel, 1 million 536 thousand tons were pumped, which is 6.3 percent more than in January - March 2012. At the same time, the production of pipes in Ukraine immediately fell by 31.4 percent - up to 440 thousand tons, and the release of reinforcement and rollery doubled - to 750 thousand tons. 619 thousand tons were produced, which is 6.3 percent more than in the first quarter of last year.

In January - March 2013, Ukrainian metallurgists increased the production of cast iron by 2.2 percent compared to the first quarter of 2012 - to 7 million 275 thousand tons, while reducing the production of generation by 1.9 percent - to 1 million 632 thousand tons.

The total volume of metal products obtained in the first quarter at Ukrainian metallurgical plants decreased by 7.8 percent compared to the same period last year.
