The largest growth showed the North American branch of the group, having achieved an increase in production of steel in the first quarter of this year by 22 percent compared to the fourth quarter of 2012.
The level of sales of metal rolling per quarter increased by 13 percent and amounted to 3 million 684 thousand 465 tons, sales of coking coal fell by 7 percent - up to 1 million 826 thousand 920 tons, iron ore concentrate - by 8 million - up to 1 million 53 thousand tons.
In the sales structure of Severstal in the first quarter of 2013, a hot -rolled, cold -rocked leaf and galvanizing prevailed. At the same time, sales of a hot -rolled sheet increased by an average of 15-20 percent, and the sale of galvanized steel decreased by 12 percent. The largest sales growth was shown by steel semi -finished products, the sale of which in the first quarter increased by 53 percent - to 183 thousand 554 tons.
