Japanese metallurgists are negotiating export prices

Japanese integrated manufacturers became faced with a dead end situation in negotiations on the export of a galvanized sheet to Asian countries, mainly China, for shipment in June.

Local clients took a wait -and -see position. It is believed that they responded to weakening prices in Asia for steel products. Japanese metallurgists are trying to defeat prices in US $ 50 per ton at the negotiation stage for shipping June. This is part that Japanese manufacturers have already offered a quarterly increase in prices for $ 80 per ton in April with the sending of June.

Japanese metallurgists achieved a rise in prices for the first 30 US dollars per ton for April-May. But they consider this achievement insufficient to cover increasing expenses for raw materials. Meanwhile, customers do not show any steps to insist on reducing the price, even after the prices of the main types of products for the production of steel were softened in Asia. As a result, it is unlikely that Chinese clients will achieve a reduction in products from Japan. In Taiwan, China Steel Corp increased the prices for sheets in an equivalent amount by $ 30 per ton for shipping April-May.

In South Korea, Posco indicates the bull positions on the export of its EG sheets in the Asian direction for shipping June. The proposed prices for $ 100 are higher from the previous ones. It is clear that the bull position Posco is based on the lack of the need for violent sales EG sheets due to periodic repairs of equipment. Currently, a domain furnace No. 1 has been put on regular repairs. This will bring a certain impulse for Japanese metallurgists in the export of sheet at the negotiations on the June shipment.
