On Tuesday, April 23, 2013, the President of Azerbaijan Ilsam Aliyam the manager to establish the state closed joint -stock company Azerbaijani Steel Production Complex. In accordance with the Decree of Aliyev, the new CJSC will be a metallurgical enterprise of the full cycle - from the extraction and processing of iron ore - to the smelting of steel and the production of metal rolling.
The Minister of Industry and Energy of Azerbaijan Nick Aliyev said that metallurgy will become a new priority for the development of the country's industry. He said this on Thursday at a press conference in Baku.
According to the politician, the growth of the economy in all countries should be based on large strategic enterprises.
“To date, the economy of Azerbaijan has been based mainly on the oil and gas, energy industry, which has created the conditions for the opening of hundreds of small and medium enterprises. We can say that large industrial enterprises with the participation of both the state and foreign investors were not in the country,” said Nampik Aliyev.
The development of metallurgy is the fundamental element of the growth of the economy of Azerbaijan. The country has an excellent raw material base for the work of the steel industry on full self -sufficiency.
"The development of this direction in the country is the future of Azerbaijan," the minister said.
