Quotes for the import of coal to Ukraine will enter into force on June 1

The import of coal and coke to Ukraine in accordance with the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of April 22, 2013 will be regulated by the Special Government Commission, headed by Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Boyko.

The commission included the heads of the Ministry of Revenue, the Ministry of Revenue, the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Regulations, the Ministry of Regions, the State Economic Inspectorate, the First Deputy Head of the Ministry of Ecology, the chairman of the State Emergency Service, the director of the Department of the State Property Agency (on the basis of which the Ministry of Industry and Trade is restored), the Ministry of Energy and the General Director of the Ukrkoks Association and the adviser to the vice-prime minister.

When considering the issues of providing a quota to this or that importer, the Interdepartmental Commission should be guided by the following information about the activities of such an enterprise over the past three years:

1) the volume of imports of coking coal and the consumption of Ukrainian coal;
2) the volume of production and consumption of coke;
3) the volume of cast iron production, including using the technology of dust -angle fuel blowing.

The Ministry of Economic Development of Ukraine on its website is obliged to publish the relevant information, which will describe the procedure for submitting, the start and completion of the registration of applications of importers. After that, the Ministry of Economic Development will send the received documents of the Interdepartmental Commission, which should consider them within seven business days after the completion of the acceptance of such applications.

As we have already reported, from April 4 to the end of 2013, it was forbidden to import coke and semicircle to Ukraine, as well as limited the import of a coke with a volume of 10 million 200 thousand tons. According to the Minister of Energy and the Coal Industry, these measures were taken exclusively to protect domestic coal mining companies. "We act in terms of protectionist policy in terms of coal mining in our country," Eduard Stavitsky emphasized.
