In the first half of 2026, car production in Japan increased by 3%

According to the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association (JAMA), in June, Japan's car production, including cars, trucks, and buses, totaled 776,023 units. This is 6.8 percent more than in the same month of 2025. In the first half of the year, car production in the country increased by 3 percent year-on-year, reaching 4,299,050 units.

Sales in the Japanese domestic market totaled 426,884 vehicles in June, up 8.5 percent from the same month in 2025. In January—June, sales in the domestic market increased by 1.7 percent year-on-year and reached 2,387,190 единиц.

In June, the country's car exports totaled 384,204 units, an increase of 3.9 percent compared to last year. From January to June, shipments of Japanese cars abroad increased by 0.3 percent year-on-year to 2,052,789 units.
