Between January and August of this year, sales of heavy trucks (including chassis and tractors) in China totaled 828,000 units, up 16.0% from the same period last year, according to preliminary data released by cvworld.cn , a Chinese provider of information services for the automotive industry.
In August alone, China's heavy truck sales totaled 83,000 units, down 1.0% from the previous month, while declining 9.4% year-on-year.
The traditional off-season, high temperatures, typhoons and heavy rains in August contributed to a slowdown in heavy truck sales growth in the first eight months.
In particular, heavy truck exports are expected to grow by more than 35 percent in August, driven by strong demand in Africa, Latin America and Central Asia.
